Lemon Pound Cake /w Lemon Glaze

 

Lemon Pound Cake/w glaze  

  • 3 cups of cake flour 

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1  cup sour cream 

  • 1 tablespoons grated lemon zest, packed 

  • 1 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter, softened

  • 3 Cups of Sugar 

  • 6 large room temperature

Lemon Glaze 

  • ½ Powdered Sugar 

  • 1 tablespoons 

  • 1 tablespoon of milk 

Directions 

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F and position the rack in the middle of the oven. 

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a  large bowl using an electric mixer with the paddle attachment or whisk attachment cream together butter and sugar for 4 minutes. Scrape and continue to mix utilizing the mixture is a pale yellow color. 

  4. Next add vanilla extract and lemon extract. Mix until combined

  5. Next add in dry ingredients and mix until combined

  6. Next add in lemon juice and lemon zest 

  7. Spray and flour preferred baking pan ( loaf or bundt)

  8. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 1 hour 15minuts

  9. Remove from the oven and let it cool for 10-15minutes. Flip cake on to a plate

  10. Combine glaze ingredients and drizzle over cooled cake. Serve immediately and enjoy.
